eating

Patio 5 Goldhawk Road Find on Google Maps Quite simply one of the best-priced, most warm and welcoming restaurants in London. Eva is the perfect hostess - let her know you're coming to see a show at the Bush, she's a great supporter of the theatre. The soups are always fresh and delicious. If you're feeling even slightly under the weather, try the chicken consomme, which comes with noodles. The pierogi (dumplings) are the greatest comfort food in West London.

Wahaca Southern Terrace, Westfield Centre Find on Google Maps The Bush team love Wahaca. The guacamole, tender marinated chicken burritos and sonara salads come highly recommended, and the cocktails are pretty tasty too. Located only a short stroll away in the Westfield Centre, it's the perfect place for a quick Mexican fix before or after a show. There's outdoor seating for when the sun shines, and a very cool indoor area for when it's not. Wahaca also throw a fab party, having generously sponsored the press night parties for our productions of Apologia and 2nd May 1997.

Renezio 11 Goldhawk Road Find on Google Maps A welcoming and very reasonably-priced Italian. Pasta-dishes are good and filling. The service is usually swift and they're generally good at rushing something through if you're in a hurry. It's worth going for the seriously eclectic mix of old film pictures on the walls. We like to pretend that they've all eaten there.

The Westfield Centre The Westfield Centre Find on Google Maps As well as our terrific local restaurants around the Bush, we should mention the huge range of restaurants available at the newly-opened Westfield Centre, about five to ten minutes walk from the Bush. Restaurants on the 'Southern Terrace' stay open later (I've put a link to this in the google maps url above). This is where Wahaca, which we love and Italian Kitchen (who won our hearts by serving a free tiny choc-ice with the coffee) are located.

Jasmine Thai 16 Goldhawk Road Find on Google Maps This is a good, reasonable Thai restaurant just around the corner from the theatre. It's answered many a 'green chicken curry' craving from the Bush staff over the past year.

The Princess Victoria 217 Uxbridge Road Find on Google Maps This lovely pub and restaurant was Time Out's Best Gastropub in 2008 and richly deserved too - it's a beautiful building with a mouth-watering menu which changes according to what's in season. The lovely owners have agreed to give us a special pre or post theatre set menu at the bargain price of 12.50 for two courses or 15 for three when you book a table in advance between 6.30-7.15pm or 9.15-10.15pm Monday to Friday. All you need to do is quote the secret code 'Bush Theatre Princess' and you're away. Yummy.

The Real Greek Southern Terrace, Westfield Centre Find on Google Maps We love the Real Greek - not only did they generously sponsor our production of The Contingency Plan, but the food's pretty delicious too. We at Bush Towers love food to share, so the mezedes plates and mini-kebabs get our vote every time.

Le Cinnamon 158a Shepherds Bush Road Find on Google Maps A lovely, friendly Indian on the way to Hammersmith, who have very generously supported If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet. Great curries.

drinking

Unit 19 W12 Centre Find on Google Maps It's not open every evening but for special events and fabulous one-offs that we'll keep you informed about, the Bush Theatre has created its own cafe/bar. There's a fabulous atmosphere, reasonable prices and the chance to sip your drink on chairs from the 30 year old bush prop store.

Albertine 1 Wood Lane Find on Google Maps You can buy wine from Giles' excellent range as well as sit in and eat at this terrific bistro, a favorite with the BBC crowd up Wood Lane. Most wines are available to try by the glass but it's worth coming here for the food. The dishes are always simple, well-cooked and tasty. If you're not really hungry a glass of wine and a starter of pate or a selection of the cheeses on offer.

Vesbar 15-19 Goldhawk Road Find on Google Maps There's a nice, relaxed atmosphere, and some decent draft lagers. It's often quieter than the theatre's pub and, as it's just across the road, it's possible to grab a drink there just before the show, although please leave at least five minutes to get back in time.

others

Pacific Net Cafe 7 Goldhawk Road Find on Google Maps This is the Bush Theatre's unofficial green room. Given how little room we have in our cozy offices, above the theatre, we often come here for meetings and lunch. It's a great place to grab a toasted sandwich, although Ali and Azar make them with such love and care, it's worth letting them know you're if you're in a hurry. I love the coffee here and the juices are great too. If they're in season, ask them to put some pomegranate in your juice, which must be the Iranian secret of eternal youth, as Ali, Azar and their daughter Nina all look so healthy. Let them know you're coming to see a show at the Bush. They're great pals to the theatre and come to see a lot of the plays.

Let's talk about Shopping Find on Google Maps Of course, there is Westfield, London's biggest shopping centre with all its many attractions. There's the W12 Centre with a Morrisons and a Boots, which recently housed our terrific production with HighTide and the National Theatre, Adam Brace's Stovepipe. There's an array of charity and pound shops on Central line side of the Green.

What if I just want a KitKat? Find on Google Maps The nearest newsagents to the Bush is the brilliantly-named 'Khyber Pass'. It's about two minutes around the corner from the theatre, down the Goldhawk Road.

What if I just want a quick sandwich? Shepherds Bush Green (South Side) Find on Google Maps Your best bet is probably the BP Garage, which has an M&S Simply Food on the South side of Shepherds Bush Green. You can just about see it from the front door of the theatre if you look to your right, with your back to the Bush, facing the green.
