The Bush Theatre is looking for a creative, experienced, and highly organised Producer to join the Artistic team and help realise the creative ambition of our productions.
The Producer will be responsible for producing all aspects of the Bush’s programme of plays and will be the main point of liaison for internal and external colleagues. The Producer reports directly to the Executive Director, who also acts as Executive Producer of the programme, and works closely with the Artistic Director.
In this role you will:
- Provide day to day management of the producing function – supporting the Artistic Director and Executive Director in ensuring that all work at the Bush Theatre is produced and presented with high quality production values and in the best possible circumstances (including national and international touring).
- Negotiate deals and contracts and manage ongoing relationships with co producers and visiting companies, with support from the Executive Director as required.
- As a Head of Department, contribute relevant expertise to business planning, production budgeting, strategy and reporting and to work across the organisation maintaining strong departmental and cross department/project communication networks.
- Line manage and develop the producing team, and together with the Technical Manager to oversee the freelance stage management and technical staff for each production
The value of equal opportunities runs through the heart of the organisation. Our diverse team and their range of experiences are vital to the Bush’s success, but we still have work to do to make sure that Bush staff represent the communities we serve. We actively encourage people with different backgrounds to join us. We are particularly keen to receive applications from people of colour and disabled people who are currently underrepresented in our team. All disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria will be invited to interview.
Please note that the deadline for applications has been extended until 10am on Monday 21 June 2021.
1st interviews will be held virtually, on Monday 5 July 2021.
2nd interviews will be held virtually on Wednesday 7 July 2021.
If you need any of this information in a different format or would like to suggest a different form of application please contact our Theatre Administrator, Jessica Pentney by email [email protected] or phone 0208743 3584.
