Rachel Bagshaw is a Bush Associate Artist for 2018. She is a director who makes innovative theatre which uses sound to tell stories. She is co-founder of Blazon Theatre, established to showcase theatre by female artists and which is currently developing Icons by Paula B Stanic.
Recent work includes Fringe First award-winning The Shape of the Pain, a collaboration with Chris Thorpe. Previous work includes Hamlet, (Young Vic), Resonance at the Still Point of Change (Unlimited Festival, South Bank Centre), The Rhinestone Rollers, Just Me, Bell (Graeae).
She is also an Associate Artist at Wilton’s and director of Access to Acting, a RADA-led national programme of work for disabled and non-disabled young people. She was Resident Assistant Director at the Young Vic 2010-11 and led the education programme at disabled-led theatre company Graeae 2007 – 2010.
