About
Presented by White Kite Collective with Az Theatre.
A staged adaptation of testimonies, written by Hossam Madhoun – a theatre maker and Child Protection Manager from Gaza. These accounts describe his lived experiences and his encounters during the genocide to the present. This is a public reading event followed by a conversation. We’re honoured, in the unprecedented circumstances of a rare visit to London, to be joined by Hossam Madhoun.
Hossam’s People derives from presentations made by Az Theatre from October 2023 and this event is particularly poignant because Hossam’s accounts have been presented at every previous White Kite Collective event.
Hossam’s People has had a successful sell-out tour in Italy including the National Theatre in Rome, with its English-language premiere in NYC. This is its first presentation in the UK.
White Kite Collective is a group of artists and cultural workers, including Az Theatre, formed in urgent response to the ongoing Palestinian genocide. They bear witness and galvanise to action through testimony, literature and collective discussion.
Due to expected demand, please only purchase tickets if planning to attend. If you are unable to attend but still wish to make a donation to the charity please visit White Kite Collective’s donorbox here.
This event is a fundraiser for Thilal a grassroots org running trauma-informed workshops in Gaza and Ma’an Development Centre.
