Bush Summer Sessions

See events

Join us this summer for live music, podcasts and food pop-ups.

This summer, a bold and provocative programme of live podcasts and musicians will be taking over, followed by DJs playing till late on the Bush terrace. We’ll also be home to several food pop ups, serving up delicious Nigerian, Caribbean and BBQ dishes and we’ll be screening the biggest sporting events of the summer, including the UEFA European Championships and Wimbledon.

Veepa & Co are curating a series of live events including The Big Black Quiz; testing your knowledge on everything from the first black Britons to Tyler Perry’s poor wig choices. We’ll then bring in Pride Season with Mary & Friends Live and celebrate one year of lesbian excellence at Dykes and Mic Podcast’s first live show. And if you’re looking forward to carnival as much as we are, come and buss a whine at Rai the DJ’s Summer Party which is guaranteed to be a shut down.

Ambreen Razia: ‘Show the West the pain they’ve caused…the colonial trauma inflicted on your ancestors’

Monday – ‘I hid his firearms’ she said through her chestnut eyes, her finger tips lightly touching one another, blonde highlights through her Pakistani hair, each strand telling me who she used to be. ‘This country’s failed me’, her words bouncing off her majesty’s walls, I sit opposite her with my name, she sits opposite…

the lonely creative. by Robyn London

Although our theatre is closed, we are still committed to finding ways…
