Announcing the 2025 Bloom Bursary recipients

We’re thrilled to announce the next six writers receiving Bush Theatre’s biannual Bloom Bursary.
The Bloom Bursary is a £750 award, alongside mentorship from the Bush’s artistic team. It is awarded to outgoing members of the 18-25 Bush Young Company, as part of the Bush’s ongoing commitment to their artistic development and to secure the legacy of the Young Companies.
The six writers benefiting from this bursary are:
- Alfie O’Sullivan-Neill
- Daud Xiddig
- Yemi Yohannes
- Dejuan Desiree
- Natalia Choudhary
- Josie Dixey Watson
They follow Bush Theatre’s first cohort of Bloom Bursary recipients, awarded in 2023: Maymuna Abdi, Sara Dawood, Maryam Garad, Kerrica Kendall, Jonny Khan and James Walsh.
Founded during the disruption of the pandemic, our Young Companies have become central to everything we do, reflecting our commitment to local life and developing the next generation of artists. Both Young Companies are free for young people. The Young Companies will be returning to our main house this summer in two new productions – PAUSE/REWIND from the 14-17 BYC, and MAKE ME FEEL from the 18-25 BYC. Tickets are now on sale.
