Mimi Findlay steps down; Angela Wachner appointed interim Executive Director and co-CEO
- Our People
After two years as our Executive Director, Mimi Findlay will be stepping down in July to take up the role as Executive Director and Joint CEO of the Albany, Deptford. Our Deputy Executive Director, Angela Wachner, will be stepping up as interim Executive Director and co-CEO to lead the organisation with Taio Lawson, our incoming Artistic Director and co-CEO.
Mimi’s time at the Bush has seen huge success. She oversaw the delivery of the groundbreaking 2023 and 2024 seasons, and the subsequent West End transfers of two shows from those seasons – Red Pitch by Tyrell Williams and the Olivier-nominated Shifters by Benedict Lombe.
“I’ve had the most incredible and unforgettable couple of years at the Bush and it will remain forever dear to me.
In the time that I’ve been here, I’ve seen the impact that the Bush has every day on our community, our audiences, our supporters and our artists – and it couldn’t achieve what it does without all of you.
I am unendingly proud of the way the Bush continues to disrupt the canon and champion work that reshapes what theatre can be, and who it can be for. I am grateful to have been a part of the Bush’s history and look forward to it continuing to make waves for generations to come.
I am so excited for the Bush’s next chapter with Taio’s thrilling vision and Angela to walk beside him.”
– Mimi Findlay
Incoming interim Executive Director, Angela Wachner, has been with the Bush for more than seven years, following roles at the National Theatre and the Royal Opera House.
Chair of the Board, Uzma Hasan, said; “The Board believes that Angela’s invaluable knowledge of the Bush and Taio’s exciting artistic vision and fresh eyes will make them a strong team during this period of transition.”
