Caught in the Act returns for two exclusive performances of experimental theatre, presented by Mohammedally Al-Hashemi and Malachi Pullar-Latchman.

This show offers audiences a unique opportunity to witness the interplay between structure and spontaneity in live performance.

Thu 28 & Sat 30 August: KLARA

Written by and starring Mohammedally Al-Hashemi, The story follows Klara, who, after the tragic death of her boyfriend in a car crash, begins attending therapy to cope with her grief. During one of her sessions, her therapist guides her through a reenactment exercise—recreating the first date she had with her boyfriend. As the scene unfolds, it initially feels like a genuine new date with someone unfamiliar, filled with charm and connection. But gradually, Klara begins to recognise the details, the setting, the words—and she realises she’s reliving a cherished memory. Through this emotional reenactment, Klara confronts her loss, explores the depth of her pain, and takes the first meaningful steps toward healing and learning to reconnect with herself. Come and watch as we see scripted scenes mesh with live hot seating improv.

    Mohammedally Al-Hashemi is an actor, writer, and producer of Yemeni-Iranian heritage born and raised in London. With over half a decade of experience in the industry, his work explores themes of fractured identity, grief, and dreams.

    His short films have been selected for Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying festivals and screened internationally: in the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Yemen, Egypt, and Oman. He is currently developing his debut feature, debut play Majnun and various TV shows.

    Malachi Pullar-Latchman is an actor and producer based in London, past credits include Hounded (Amazon), Eastenders, and Sharkbait (Amazon).

    Esther Mingli is known for playing the series regular role of Carly Roche in the Netflix series SNOWPIERCER. Other notable credits include Apple TV+’s GHOSTWRITER, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, and feature films, THE ADAM PROJECT directed by Shawn Levy and most recently BJORN OF THE DEAD. Esther is a graduate of LAMDA 2024. When she isn’t acting, she enjoys writing poetry.
