After a year of electric, sold-out nights in the Studio, Talking People moves into the main house at the Bush — and we’re bringing one of our best one-off theatrical experiences yet.

In this new scenario, the audience joins a close-knit group of friends gathering for a meal but one of them is bringing someone new. Not everyone wants them there, and on this night, something may very well come to the surface.

Who are these friends? Who is this new partner? Are their concerns valid, or are old loyalties getting in the way of truth? You question, decide and witness.

If you’ve been before, you’ll know what to expect. If you haven’t… get ready for a unique piece of improvised storytelling.

    Safia Lamrani is a British Moroccan actor, writer, and improviser. Currently based in London, Safia trained at The Guildford School of Acting before co-founding her own theatre company Pistachio Theatre.

    Recent theatre credits include: The London 50 hour Improvathon (2025), Lindsay Posner’s No.1 UK tour Noises Off and cover at the Haymarket West End Theatre (2024), Hakaya at Soho Theatre (2023), and Deen and Dunya at The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse (2022).

    Safia wrote and starred in the short film Tea with Baba (2024) which won four festival awards, played the lead in the short film Panic! which debuted at the Southbank Centre as part of their refugee week festival (2023). Safia can be seen in the latest Netflix commercial and her latest short Late Tuesday Morning (2025) has just been released into the festival circuit.
