About

P.O.P. Creative Director: Sabrina Mahfouz

Five spectacular spoken word poets perform new, exciting work from their debut solo shows; investigating invisibility, shame, darkness, cigarette brands, grief and all that good stuff in the way only the rhythm and rawness of poetry can. Integrated dance and animations; original music; startling stories and beautiful language make this chance to glimpse the start of new work by five incredible artists one not to miss.

P.O.P. was founded following a Sky Arts Futures Fund Award to Sabrina Mahfouz for her poetry work. P.O.P. seed commissioned the above artists to write new material in a way that challenged their usual practice and would give their talents a platform in the theatre world. The full productions will be presented as a rotating season during Edinburgh Fringe 2014.

P.O.P. is supported by Sky Arts, IdeasTap and The Hospital Club
