Elinor Cook is the winner of the George Devine Award 2013 for Most Promising Playwright. Elinor was part of the Royal Court Writing Super Group in 2012, during which she wrote her play The Girl’s Guide To Saving The World, which was produced by HighTide in April as part of their 2014 festival, directed by Amelia Sears. Elinor has recently finished writing an episode of The Secret, a new series project with Working Title Television, which is now filming, directed by Dominic Savage for BBC1. Her play Pilgrims received a rehearsed reading at Soho Theatre in 2012, another of her plays, Pastoral, was a commission from the Bush Theatre while under Josie Rourke.Elinor’s short play, The Circle Game, was the winner of the Old Vic New Voices Time Warner Ignite 3 competition and was also performed at Latitude Festival. Her play Head Music toured recently with Box of Tricks’ Head/Heart project. Elinor’s play Microwave was shortlisted for the Old Vic/Theatre 503 Award for new writing and received a rehearsed reading at Theatre 503 as part of their Foundations Programme and more recently a week’s workshop and reading at the National Theatre Studio.
