New Writing Fund

One donation. Double impact. Support our New Writing Fund.

Give today and we’ll double your donation! The money raised in our New Writing Fund will go towards the next 50 years of new writers, new writing and new voices. Any gift you give will make a difference to our work and allow the Bush to discover, and work with, more writers than ever before.

Thanks to our generous trustees and special donors who have pledged their support, every donation made will be doubled. One donation, double impact.

For 50 years the Bush Theatre has championed new writers and new writing. Over the years we have been at the beginning of many careers; we have seen artists flourish, we have seen them discover their voices and we have seen them become household names.

It’s what we do. We champion new writers, we develop their talent, and then we watch them soar.

During the last 50 years we have staged over 500 plays. In the last year alone we have read over 1000 scripts, given seed commissions to 10 writers, worked with 14 people as part of our Emerging Writers’ and West London Writers’ groups and commissioned 8 brand new plays for the Bush stage.

We want to keep doing all of this for the next 50 years and beyond! This exciting and necessary work will continue to discover new talent and reflect the world around us – challenging, inspiring and changing people’s minds and maybe even the theatre industry itself.

To give us the freedom to continue discovering new talent, giving communities a voice and delighting audiences we rely on all our supporters who are so generous in their on-going belief in the Bush’s work. Our ticket revenue and Arts Council England grant cover only 70% of the income we need every year so the rest is raised through fundraising.
