Entrances

Our main entrance is accessible at the right hand side of the building, via four steps or a ramp suitable for wheelchair users and buggies. There is an automatic double glass door. From here the Box Office is to the left and the Holloway Theatre, Library Bar and Alen-Buckley Script Library are beyond the Box Office around the corner.

You can also enter at the front of the building through the old porch up four steps. The theatre’s Library Bar is straight ahead, the Alen-Buckley Script Library is to the left, and the Box Office to the right.

Holloway Theatre

The Holloway Theatre is the Bush Theatre’s main house, the larger of our two auditoriums seating 160-220 people.

Access to the Holloway Theatre is on the ground floor and the floor is level. For a detailed view of the layout of the Holloway Theatre please see the seating plan for each performance on the event pages. Please note the layout of the space changes for each production. A wheelchair space is available to book for every show.

Seat widths: seats are 53cm wide and 43cm deep, with a gap of between 7cm and 14cm between each seat. Seats do not have arm rests, and they are fixed. Freestanding seats available on request.

Library Bar and Alen-Buckley Script Library

Both of these spaces are on the ground floor. The bar has an energetic atmosphere and is the perfect place to gather before or after a show. It connects the two performance spaces, on either side of the building. The Script Library is a stunning, atmospheric room lined with bookshelves housing our wide collection of playtexts and other theatre books.

Seating: there is a range of seating, including wooden seats, upholstered seats, with and without arm rests. There are also wooden high stools and cushioned high stools.

Writers’ Room

The Writers’ Room is on the second (top) floor and is accessible via the lift or stairs. This is where our writers work, think and create our productions.

Toilets

Our toilets are on the first floor, accessible via stairs or the lift. These are non-gendered, and offer a choice of facilities – 5 stalls with shared sinks to the left, or 3 urinals and 1 stall with shared sinks to the right.

There is a single-use cubicle on the ground floor which is accessible (right-hand transfer), has baby-changing facilities, includes a sink within the cubicle and has floor-to-ceiling walls.

We are a transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming inclusive venue. We continue to welcome everyone to use the facilities that are most appropriate for them.

Multi-faith prayer space

There is a quiet, dedicated prayer space on the second (top) floor for use by visitors, artists and staff, which is accessible via the lift or stairs.
