RADAR Performance: Illusions

Presented by Actors Touring Company in association with the Bush Theatre as part of RADAR 2012′

“I guess that’s how it was meant to be. Love can only be mutual, I agree with you Albert, and forgive me for this cruel sincerity”

Love & death, loyalty & betrayal, truth & fiction, hope & despair, Illusions is an enticing yet deceitful new comedy that takes us on a journey through what true love is.

Russia’s foremost contemporary playwright and screenwriter, Ivan Viripaev, has won several major awards for his work including the prestigious Golden Mask and the Presidential Council Prize for Literature in Russia. Ramin Gray directs Viripaev’s the English language debut as Olivier Award winning Actors Touring Company continues to pioneer the best international contemporary theatre in the UK.

“Ramin Gray’s direction gives elegant shape and attention-fixing pace to the flow of words.” The Observer

“It’s like a bedtime story gone awry. The threat is our inability to make sense of a shifting universe, to really know another human being and keep love constant.” The Guardian, 4*
