STREET VOICES 3 – RE-WRITING PLAYWRITING

Over the course of two nights at the Bush, Freedom Studios presents the work of some of the most exciting new playwrights in Yorkshire. 8 writers, 4 directors, 12 actors, 8 plays and a panoramic view of contemporary Britain as reflected by a new generation of theatre makers.

As the performances unfold, you will be entertained by stories that are sometimes personal, sometimes absurd and sometimes fantastic. Each play provides a slice of life, a personal vision of the world.

We will invite you the audience to play the part of critic, advocate and agent to decide which play(s) you would like to see further developed and supported into a seventy-minute touring play.

The writers were selected as a result of an open call for submissions and have all attended Street Voices 3, an intensive writing course led by Madani Younis, Artistic Director of Freedom Studios.
