CHALET LINES at Live Theatre Newcastle

Sold out

This Autumn Lee Mattinson’s comedy drama Chalet Lines travels to Live Theatre Newcastle after a popular run at the Bush in Spring 2012

Butlins Skegness, Chalet Number 12, where the Walker women have been holidaying since 1961.

This year it’s Nana Barbara’s seventieth and everyone’s airing their dirty laundry. Loretta’s had too many camp cocktails, Jolene’s fallen tits over teeth for a Redcoat and Abigail’s harbouring more than knickers and hairspray in her suitcase.

A shockingly funny journey through five decades of birthdays, wedding and hen dos which asks can we ever really cut the apron string that ties us to our parents?

Bush Green

Conversations, dispatches and ideas from the Bush Theatre.

Go to BushGreen
the lonely creative. by Robyn London

I have spent my life immersed in creativity.  As a guide, passion or perhaps what others may interpret as an unrealistic dream.  It is embedded within my earliest memories. It has nurtured my soul. There is beauty in the moments of creativity that healed parts of me, that I didn’t realise were broken. Memories of…

Our doors are closed for now, but our work continues

Following the latest government advice about Coronavirus, the Bush Theatre building is now temporarily closed to the public. It is with enormous sadness that we closed our doors, but the safety and wellbeing of our audiences, company, and staff is of utmost importance. Although our doors are closed, we are still committed to finding ways…

Women in Tech: An Interview with Technical Manager Amy Clarey

For International Women’s Day we are celebrating our very own Amy Clarey, who is Technical Manager at the Bush. Amy is responsible for leading the technical department in working across all productions, events and activity in the building. Traditionally when it comes to technical roles in theatre, women have often been sidelined and not given…
