Hortense & The Shadow

Storytelling and Craft Workshop

Hortense is a small girl who lives in a big wood. She is kind and brave and clever. But one thing makes her unhappy. Hortense hates her shadow.

Join sisters Natalia and Lauren for a magical fairy tale storytelling event. Children will be brought into Hortense’s snowy world through Natalia and Lauren’s beautiful storytelling, and then further immersed into the world of fairy tales with some creative and glittery arts & crafts. There will be heroines, bandits, and a touch of pantomime.
This stunning and unforgettable picture book, published by Penguin Random House, will remind you of the fables you read as a child as told by exciting new author-and-illustrator pairing, sisters Natalia and Lauren O’Hara. With a classic sensibility and lyrical style, Hortense and the Shadow features a strong heroine and an empowering message. This is an original picture book from real, new talent, with an important story about embracing all sides of yourself. An immersive storytelling and fairy tale craft workshop suitable for children ages 4-8 years old.
