LADS

Unwrapped: a festival of comedy, cabaret and drag
Curated by Victoria Falconer

The sell-out sensation LADS comes to the Bush for the first time to bring an unforgettable showcase of unmissable, unladylike talent.

Since birthed in 2016, this show has never ceased to blast a diverse range of female identifying artists to the front; serving you a multiplicity of skills in circus, opera, puppetry and “bad-assery” from all round the globe! Created by three award winning international female artists – Lolo Brow, Lilly Snatchdragon and Scarlett O’Hora – this iconic event promises to be every bit as loud as it is diverse.

LADS welcomes all humans to stomp, shout and celebrate the badly behaved women making history.

Lauren Clancy: “What can our next government do for the arts?”

In two days’ time the country will head to the polls to decide who our next government will be. While this will be a pivotal moment for the nation in many ways, at the Bush we are keenly aware of the shared responsibility of the sector to ensure arts and culture sit firm on our…

Bijan Sheibani: Drama is a means of finding our truer selves

I have been asked in the past whether male vulnerability is a running theme in my work.  Barber Shop Chronicles and The Brothers Size, two plays I recently directed, and my play The Arrival, all look at the way men open themselves up to one another and the difficulties men have in doing that. As we prepare to open this gripping family drama about two brothers meeting for the first time, we wanted give you some essential facts about the mastermind behind this show. Bijan is…
