Richard Gadd, Mat Ewins, Reuben Kaye

Richard Gadd

Richard is a multi-award-winning writer-performer and actor. His incredible show, MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO, won the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show subsequently had several sell-out runs at London’s Soho Theatre, toured the UK, had a run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, was nominated for the 2017 Barry Award and was broadcast on Comedy Central.

Matt Ewins

In 2017 Matt was nominated for the coveted lastminute.com Edinburgh comedy award for Best Show with his most recent offering, Mat Ewins: Presents Adventureman 7 – The Return Of Adventureman, which he also took to London’s Soho Theatre for an extended run this autumn. Currently Mat has a number of television and radio projects in development and is also working on a new solo show for Edinburgh 2018. We also hope he will have at least one poster or press shot this time round.

Reuben Kaye

Imagine if Joan Collins, Tim Curry and Meow Meow all dropped a stack of narcotics and had an orgy… Now roll it in jewels and bathtub gin and your halfway there. In an explosion of energy, high camp, big notes and filthy humour; Reuben Kaye dominates the stage and devours his audience. With an acid wit and casual sensationalism that is simply delicious, Kaye is a dazzling phantasm of anachronistic showbiz – an explosion of sequins, lashes and teeth.

“Reuben Kaye Is A Cabaret God!”

Work Experience Diary | Annie: “This is exactly the place to be to feel supported for new ideas and work”

Our work experience student Annie reflects on her week with us. Some could say I was thrown into the deep end when I was given my desk to borrow for the week. I can assure you that I definitely wasn’t but still, sitting in the Bush’s Artistic Director’s desk space felt somewhat daunting. As Lynette…

Lynette Linton: “These stories aren’t new. Women of colour have been here all along.”

The 31st August will be a night of firsts for me – it will be the first preview of the first play in my first season as Artistic Director of the Bush Theatre. The play itself, Chiaroscuro, is also the first play that the incredible poet and novelist Jackie Kay wrote, and it will be…

Work Experience Diary: Emily

Our work experience student Emily reflects on her week with us My week at Bush Theatre has been such an incredible eye opener and it has completely re-awoken my passion for theatre. Coming to Bush, I had initially decided on an unrelated university degree despite my passion for the arts; However, after a mere two…
