“Why have you come here then? In the face of all you’ve heard. To here. To me. I know why you have come”

When night falls, take the road up from the motorway to the village. Along the path from the farmhouse there’s an open field. You’ll see a crowd is gathering in the darkness by the side of an empty grave. If you listen carefully you will hear a man desperately whispering a prayer. He has a story to tell you about an empty grave and a woman possessed.

Dare to follow the crowd as darkness descends and witness this bloodcurdling tale of faith, insanity and murder.

The Bush will be haunting this year’s Latitude Festival with this chilling graveside tale by Anthony Weigh which premiered in October 2008 as part of our Broken Space Season. The show will be performed at night in a hidden location at the Festival

“Everyone agrees that the Bush’s Latitude productions are unmissable”

Hatching Phase by Ella Road

Ella Road, one of our Emerging Writers’ ruminates on having writer’s block. There’s a tree outside my bedroom window That didn’t give any apples last year. I’d watched it carefully from my desk. Was worried it was dying. But my housemate said that things sometimes need a fallow phase. It didn’t drop any apples this…

Bush Staff Recommends: LGBT+ Artists

February is an exciting time for reflection on all things LGBT+ as we celebrate communities past and present. Heterosexist society has meant that the great contributions of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Asexual, Non-Binary and Intersex individuals have been systematically down-played, or entirely erased. LGBT+ History Month is a fantastic opportunity to combat this, sparking discussion and opening powerful…
