Case Study: BBC Performing Arts Fund

In partnership with the Lyric Hammersmith, the Bush received funding from the BBC Performing Arts Fund to host an Assistant Director Fellow in 2014. This prestigious fellowship is an opportunity for an emerging theatre director to collaborate with two producing venues, create a new piece of work, learn about leadership and develop their creative network over a year.

Our chosen fellow, Roy Alexander Weise, has been working across our two venues since the beginning of 2014 supporting programming, scouting pieces in development and meeting artists. He has been Assistant and Associate Director on two Bush Theatre shows, We Are Proud to Present… and Albion and presented his own piece Empires by Sharon Kanolik at RADAR 2014.
